Youth Protection, Safe Swim Defense, BALOO and Safety Afloat are just a few of the training courses that have been mandated by the Boy Scouts of America to assist units in providing a safe atmosphere for the youth we serve. If any adult volunteer is attending a long-term camp in the State of Texas with their unit, state law requires adults to have taken the Youth Protection course online. This course and others may be accessed in the BSA Online Learning Center by clicking here.
University of Scouting
Once again, University of Scouting was held at SMU on Saturday, 5 January 2008. This was a great training opportunity for adult leaders, whether you're involved in the Cub Scout, Boy Scout or Venturing programs. Further, volunteers who serve at the District level furthered their education and understanding of the Scouting program as a whole, as part of their effort to ensure that 'every unit is good enough for my boy.' Please stay tuned for more details on University of Scouting in January 2009.
